Medicare / Medicaid
Coverage does not always equal practical access
Beneficiaries who may have medical coverage yet still lack a transportation option fitting their functional needs, subject to payor rules.
Veterans
Local & specialty-care access
Veterans whose disability, origin assistance, wheelchair, companion, distance, or scheduling needs are not adequately met by an available option.
Children & Caregivers
Medically fragile children
Children and families traveling with equipment, medications, supplies, and belongings for pediatric specialty care.

Cancer, transplant, cardiac & complex care
Patients who require recurring or longer-distance travel to specialized treatment centers outside their community.

When a caregiver cannot be there
Residents whose adult children, relatives, or usual caregivers live outside Florida or cannot repeatedly leave work to provide transportation.

Illustrative destinations in the proposal include VA, cancer, pediatric, transplant, and advanced specialty centers in West Palm Beach, Weston, Orlando, Tampa, Gainesville, and Jacksonville, along with local and regional providers throughout the five-county service area.
